A brand new site specific video intervention in Video NoD, which was created during Mrva's one month Video NoD Residency. Jozef Mrva is preparing a panoramatic video essay, that is built on his active theoretic research. His research is observing the changes in our perception of space in phenomenal structures of late capitalism of the 21st century
Jozef Mrva, a representative of the new generation of artists working with digital media, is currently a PhD student at Faculty of Fine Arts of Brno University of Technology.
Mrva is an active artist and a curator. He has participated in many group exhibitions across Czech Republic and abroad (e.g. in Kurzor Gallery in Prague or Quartair Gallery in Haag), he’s also had a number of solo shows (recently it was OFF/FORMAT Gallery in Brno or City Surfer Office in Prague). As a curator he was co-running Gallery 209 at FaVU in Brno between the years 2016 and 2018, where he organized for example the exibitions of Milan Mikuláštík or Jakub Hošek and Nik Timková.
In his work he explores geometric and semiotic possibilities of knotted torus. He combines 3D modeling and graphic design and creates scenarios, models and textual works, that are a philosophical game with alternative cosmogonic scenarios.
With the project Knot Capital Mrva participated in the festival The One Minute in Netherlands in 2018. He was also a finalist of Other Visions at PAF in Olomouc in 2017.
